Are you one of the many men or women that suffer from hair loss and thinning hair?
This is a topic that comes up often in the salon yet not one I typically address in my blog or on social media, but why? I recently pondered the reasoning behind my lack of addressing this (I still have no idea why I've never touched on the subject) while working with a company that focuses on hair loss and decided to re-post one of their articles. The company, Hair Restoration Laboratories, LLC, has done extensive research on the subject and has combined their scientific research and proven results with non-prescription ingredients to offer solutions to your hair loss problem. Read on to learn more.
Want Thicker, Fuller, Stronger Looking Hair Tomorrow?
If you're a man or woman who is experiencing hair loss it can be devastating. Understanding the causes and solutions available is key to increasing hair retention, growing thicker, fuller, healthier hair, and improving your self esteem.
Hair Restoration Laboratories has done the research and created the products to
help you fight hair loss and thinning. This article will explain what they found and how they can help you slow or reverse your hair loss.
DHT is the leading culprit in the fight against hair loss, but what is DHT, what role does it play, and what can you do about it?.
Male and Female Pattern Baldness & DHT
DHT or Dihydrotestosterone is a byproduct of testosterone in the body. The body converts some of the testosterone in the body into DHT which can affect the function of the hair follicle. Over time, excess DHT impedes the hair growth within the follicle causing slower growth, thinner strands when the follicle does produce hair, and eventually blocking the growth altogether.
Approximately 10% of testosterone in the body is converted into DHT and further explains why women also experience pattern baldness and severe hair thinning as well (although DHEA which is a hormone found in women can also convert to DHT). Both men and women produce the sex hormone testosterone.
DHT is an androgen that binds to the androgen receptors (AR’s) in your body which vary from person to person. There are also individual level variances in the enzyme that convert the testosterone into DHT, therefore, the amount of testosterone in the body is not necessarily indicative of DHT levels. Every individual’s conversion rate is different due to the differences in AR receptors and conversion enzymes so even though high levels of testosterone may not be present, there may be higher levels of the enzyme that convert it causing a higher DHT level within the body.
So what do we do about it?
Science has proven that by using products that block the DHT you can slow and even reverse hair thinning and loss. Research shows that the use of certain non-prescription, DHT blocking ingredients, you will see results. By using DHT blocking shampoo’s, conditioners, and styling treatments , and removing the existing DHT from the scalp surface you will see thicker, fuller, stronger looking hair. All of this can be achieved without the use of harsh chemicals or side effects.
Hair Restoration Laboratories uses their scientific research and unique blend of DHT halting technology to rid the scalp of buildup, reduce hair loss, promote new hair growth, and give you the results you are looking for.
I hope you found this information helpful and informative. Visit their site, check out their products and reviews, and maybe you too can put a halt to your thinning hair.
